Gail’s journey on the mat
Gail Hamlin is a native New Yorker whose yoga practice began in 2000. A 13-year media veteran, she sought yoga as a way of restoring peace and balance to her body while enjoying a rigorous physical routine. She immediately noticed the benefits of a still mind, calm breath and strong, flexible body. Gail attributes her strong yoga practice to giving her the courage to pursue her passions.
In 2010 Gail completed her first 200-hour teacher training with KayKay Clivio and David Hollander at Pure Yoga. She’s been teaching full time ever since. Over the years Gail continued her training with some of the most talented and devoted teachers. Starting in 2012 Gail began moving onto a more therapeutic path.
In addition to teaching yoga, Gail is also an avid runner. She uses her therapeutic yoga training to work with other athletes, developing well-rounded cross training techniques to help her students avoid common running injuries.
Starting in 2014, Gail also lead several 200-hour teacher trainings at yoga studios in Queens, NY. She continues to teach Yoga for Runners and YIN Yoga for students as well as leading Ayurveda workshops and Yoga Nidra sessions.
Gail is CPR/AED certified and fully insured. Her teaching experience includes Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Restorative/Yin Yoga and various therapeutic modalities (including chair yoga, prenatal yoga and yoga nidra).
